She began her medical practice in Houston, TX as an independent contractor with US Physiatry. Prior to moving to Midland, she worked at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in the Spine department. She is a Board Certified Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation physician, who started her practice in 2012. She has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. She is trained in osteopathic medicine; she completed her medical training at Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. Later, she completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX in June 2012.

She maintains her Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Gillala is an Associate Medical Director with Active staff privileges providing inpatient admissions and patient care at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Midland/Odessa, staff privileges at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Active in professional organizations, Dr. Gillala is a member of the  Texas Medical Association, and American Osteopathic Association, among others.
